Reducing Spam

Are you sick of all the spam that you receive in your Hotmail account? Unsolicited Commercial Email (UCE), also called spam, is now a huge problem with over 50 million spam emails being reported to SpamCop every month. Internet users are losing time and money sorting through large numbers of emails every day to determine which are legitimate and which are spam. Kaleton Internet's email solutions provide a way of managing the problem and greatly reducing the amount of spam in your inbox.

We have a very strict no spam policy. Our mail servers are configured to limit the number of outgoing emails from accounts each day to prevent the abuse of this service by spammers. This limit will not be noticeable to legitimate customers (even those who email people a lot) but makes it impossible for people to send out thousands of spam messages.

Our servers also make use of the latest software in order to reduce the amount of Spam that is sent to our customers' inboxes. We have installed the newest version of the highly advanced SpamAssassin software on our mail server. This software scans all incoming emails and uses sophisticated techniques to determine the probability of them being spam. If an incoming email is determined to be spam it is still delivered to the mail box but it has "*****SPAM*****" added to the beginning of the subject so that the user's email client can treat it accordingly. For example, users of Microsoft Outlook Express can add a message rule to send all emails containing "*****SPAM*****" in the subject straight to the 'deleted items' folder.

For clients who have their own mail servers we can also route their incoming emails through our own Barracuda Spam Firewall to clean out spam before forwarding legitimate emails on.
