Some customers who have registered domain names through Kaleton have recently received fake invoices from 'Domain Registry of America' (DRoA) urging them to renew their domain. This is in fact a scam aimed at tricking people into transfering their domain name to DRoA. Many other legitimate and reputable domain registrars have also been targeted in this way by DRoA. The US Federal Trade Commission even obtained an injunction against DRoA in December 2003 for these deceptive practices as can be seen at http://www.ftc.gov/os/2003/12/031219stipdomainreg.pdf. There is also a catalogue of complaints against this company listed at the Better Business Bureau at http://search.buffalo.bbb.org/nis/newsearch2.asp?ID=1&ComID=0041000017000531. Apparently the court cases and bad publicity have not detered them from still scamming people.
When you need to renew your domain you will be contacted by us automatically using email. Anyone receiving any communication from any other company requesting funds for domains that are registered with us should forward this communication to us by either email or post and then ignore it. Under no circumstances should you send any money or respond to these letters.
